What is Vector or Camera Ready Art?

Clean, finished black-and-white artwork.  It is the term used in the printing industry referring to a digital document that is ready to be printed. For a document to be Camera Ready simply means, from a technical standpoint, that the printing company can use the digital art file “as is,” and that no manipulation on their end is required for them to start printing your order. Vector art or "production ready art" is scalable to any size without the loss of detail, whereas raster art will become pixilated and detail will be lost. All The elements of the file are editable, as opposed to raster files which cannot be. It is also the perfect format for color separations.

What’s the difference between a correction and a revision?

You may need some additional work done to an order or have a mistake that needs correcting. A correction is when you need a minor adjustment made to a completed art.

There is no charge for a correction. A revision is when you need new work done to completed art and what you are requesting was not in the original job submission. Most Revision edits  are done free of charge and we will alert you if yours are billable. If there is a fee -it is at a
much-reduced rate versus doing a brand new order.

What is the difference between Spot Color
Vs. CMYK

Spot colors: are pre-mixed inks using an exact formula and are usually used as solid colors instead of blending the inks. One advantage of spot colors is that you can select the color you want from a PMS swatch book prior to printing and you can rest easy knowing the imprint on the item will be the same exact color.

CMYK(Cyan, Magenta, Yellow
and Black) : also referred to as 4 color or full-color process. Printers using CMYK process print out four different plates from your file. A separate plate for each of these colors; Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black. The full-color spectrum is achieved by combining these four colors. With this process there may be slight color variations and exact PMS matches are not guaranteed.

What file formats can you return our art back to us in?

We can return camera ready artwork in any file format that you need. Eps or  Ai are the most common. We can also include at no additional charge non-vector formats if requested:  Pdf, Psd, Tiff, Jpeg, Gif, Bmp etc.
